Dr. Wedel is originally from the Harrisburg area. She attended medical school through the Health Professions Scholarship Program and commissioned into the United States Army upon graduation. During her military career, she was stationed at several bases across the country, including Fort Polk, LA; Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD; and Fort Sam Houston, TX. Prior to joining PA Retina Specialists, Dr. Wedel was Chief of Ophthalmology at Brooke Army Medical Center, the Department of Defense’s only Level 1 trauma center and the home of the largest military residency training program in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Wedel is married and has three children. She is board certified in Ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Wedel is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Society of Military Ophthalmologists.
